KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was rescued from a house fire near 60th Street and Walrond Avenue Tuesday morning.
According to Kansas City, Missouri, fire crews, the blaze started around 7:30 a.m.
The crews received reports that four people were inside the home, but only one person was found.
That person was wheelchair bound and appeared to be trying to crawl out of the house. He is now at the hospital with serious injuries.
Neighbors told police that the other three residents were out of town.
Animal control picked up a few dogs that were in the backyard of the home.
Crews said it was an aggressive fire and they were focused on the front part of the home.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and bomb and arson crews are investigating, which is standard procedure.
