KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police said a man died after he was run over by a city bus Wednesday night.
The incident happened at East 51st Street and Troost Avenue just before 10:30 p.m.
Police said a KC Metro Max bus stopped at the bus stop near the intersection and a passenger was helped off the rear, side door of the bus by another passenger.
It is unclear what happened next and police aren't sure whether the passenger fell from the bus or tripped after getting off, but the passenger ended up under the bus and was run over as it pulled away.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and other passengers were unharmed.
