ORIGINAL STORY, June 3 | A man was shot and killed in the 3400 block of Independence Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
Officers called to the area on a shots fired call.
Upon arrival, police found a man on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was transported to an area hospital, and pronounced dead a short time later.
Witnesses reported hearing shots and seeing an unknown vehicle leaving the area.
