PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. — The Chiefs' Super Bowl run has many people showing their love for the team, including places of worship.

Asbury United Methodist Church is showing their support for the team with a message on their sign that says, ”Thy Chiefs’ Kingdom come thy will be done on earth and in Miami #GoChiefs.”

Senior pastor, Gayla Rapp said the response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive.

"It's obvious Kansas City loves their hometown team and people will drive by and take pictures. They will call the church and say thanks for putting the sign up. They'll send us an email," shes aid.

Reverend Rapp said the idea for the creative signs started with the Royals and extended to the Chiefs with their success.

Rapp hopes the sign taps into the excitement and unity the team has brought to the area.

"We may have different backgrounds, different political views, different faith traditions, but we can all get together behind our team and say we're one and we support this and this is something that brings us together,” she said.

The senior pastor explained the Chiefs will receive a special recognition at the end of their Sunday services as the team prepares for the Super Bowl.
