What do a measuring cup, ink cartridges and an Adele CD have in common?

Metro Property Crimes detectives believe all of these items were stolen. Now, they need your help finding those who might have been victimized.

"It's so random and that's the problem we are having. We're not finding package slips, but we believe all of this is stolen and we don't know who it belongs to," said Sgt. Kevin Kilkenny of the Metro Property Crimes Section.

This winter, several homes in the Brookside area reported missing packages from front porches. Detectives investigated and recovered dozens of items.

Items recovered include:

  • Ink Cartridges
  • Brita filters
  • Coffee presser
  • DVDs and CDs
  • Measuring cup
  • Contacts
  • Bronzer
  • Luna bars
  • Kitchen utensils
  • T-shirts

Police have a suspect they believe is responsible for the thefts.

Kilkenny told 41 Action News the man was most likely using the stolen goods and selling what he didn’t need from his car.

No charges have been filed yet.

"We had a neighbor who got a license plate number and from there everything fell into place," said Kilkenny. "We believe each order is 50 to 100 dollars, and we believe there are probably 50 to 60 orders."

If you believe any of the missing items belong to an order you did not receive, contact the Metro Patrol Division at 816-581-0679. You will need to provide a recipient or proof of purchase for the missing items.
