KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Attorney General says the deal agreed to between St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner and former governor Eric Greitens should be public.
Gardner reached out to Hawley's office for an opinion after receiving several requests under the Missouri Sunshine Law for the un-redacted version of the deal. 41 Action News submitted one of those requests.
Greitens' legal team has been opposed to the release of the full deal.
A portion of the agreement includes Greitens' resignation and Gardner dropping the computer tampering charge. Greitens has since resigned and Gardner has officially dropped the charge.
The felony charge accused Greitens of misusing a charity donor list for his campaign.
41 Action News has reached out to Gardner's office to see if the un-redacted portion of the deal will now be released. In a response Tuesday evening, a spokesperson said, "We are evaluating our legal options."
