UPDATE, 6:55 p.m., June 21 | The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the woman as 30-year-old Nicole Self, of Pleasant Valley.
UPDATE, 1 p.m., June 21 | MSHP reports the woman's body has been located and is in the process of being recovered. Her ID has not been released at this time.
UPDATE, 9 a.m., June 21 | Sgt. Bill Lowe with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said that on Sunday, a boat struck something underwater and was headed back to shore when an item fell out of the boat.
The driver, a woman in her 30s, dove in to get the item and did not resurface. The search for her has resumed.
ORIGINAL STORY, June 20 | A search is underway for a swimmer at Smithville Lake near Camp Branch.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Bill Lowe, the search began around 4 p.m. on Sunday.
There was no other information on the victim immediately available.
The search was paused around 10 p.m. for safety and will resume Monday morning.
