KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcyclist survived a 47-foot fall after he lost control of his bike.

It happened around 8:30 pm Saturday night, on U.S. 169 just south of 9 Highway.

Police say the 31-year old driver of a black Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound when the Kansas City man apparently lost control. The vehicle struck the concrete barrier along the outside lane and he was thrown off the side of the elevated highway.

He fell approximately 47 feet and suffered multiple broken bones. He has been listed in serious condition at an area hospital.
