KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday, Overland Park police said multiple water main breaks were impacting the intersection of West 75th Street and Metcalf Avenue.

According to police, all of the eastbound and westbound lanes of 75th Street were closed to Lamar.

East and west of 75th to Walmer also closed.

Water One confirmed several breaks occurred and 103 customers were out of water.

A utility company on-site estimated repairs would take hours.

Around 3:30 p.m., Water One shared an update that repairs were complete and water service had been restored.

The westbound lanes on 75th from Metcalf to Lamar were set to open around 4 p.m. The eastbound lanes will tentatively have at least one lane open, per Water One.

Water One said all lanes will be closed Friday or Saturday depending on the city of Overland Park's "availability to repair the street."
