National Weather Service issues winter weather advisory for Kansas City area

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Kansas City area.

The advisory goes into effect at midnight and lasts through noon Wednesday for portions of northwest and west-central Missouri, and northeast and east-central Kansas.

NWS said mixed precipitation is expected, and snow accumulations of one to three inches are possible.

NWS also warned of light glaze of ice with possible accumulations.

Drivers should plan ahead and expect slippery road conditions during the morning commute.
