KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Nestle notified the state of Kansas earlier this month it plans to lay off up to 85 employees at its facility in Kansas City, Kansas’ Fairfax Industrial District.

The global food and distribution company notified the Kansas Department of Commerce of its intentions on Aug. 16.

On Friday, a Nestle spokesperson said the move stemmed from an announcement made by the company earlier in 2019 about plans to end its direct store delivery network for pizza and ice cream.
