KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A new entertainment bar and restaurant will open on the Country Club Plaza next year.

Punch Bowl Social plans to open in the historic Jack Henry building at 612 West 47th Ave. The Denver-based concept, which opened its first location in 2012, has 18 locations nationwide, with seven more planned by the end of 2020.

The Kansas City location will offer a variety of social games, include foosball, Yardzee, ping-pong, karaoke, classic arcade games and “duck pin bowling,” a version of the familiar game that features a smaller ball without finger holes and different pins.

Punch Bowl Social also will serve food and drinks, with menu items ranging from shrimp burgers with Old Bay mayo, crab cheese Rangoon dip and cocoa-dusted carnitas tacos.

The craft beverage menu will feature signature punches, nonalcoholic cocktails, fresh juices and local craft beers, according to a news release.

“With a thriving arts and retail scene, major sports teams and a vibrant community near the downtown, Crossroads and Westport neighborhoods, Kansas City presents an ideal location for the growing experiential lifestyle brand,” the company said in a news release.

The bar and restaurant, which will occupy two stories, will be the anchor tenant of the Jack Henry building redevelopment, according to the release. It's expected to open in late 2020.
