KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former software developer is innovating the way some folks get their food delivered in Kansas City.

Inside a nondescript building in the River Market, there's a kitchen busy cooking up orders for hungry customers.

Welcome to ClusterTruck, where the focus is making food only for deliveries.

It's the creation of Chris Baggott, a former software developer who is applying his skills to revolutionize the way people order food.

"We've built a software system that manages everything from the drivers to the food preparations to the customer's experience," Baggott said.

After opening six kitchens in cities like Denver, he set his eyes on Kansas City.

"I feel like it's very underserved in prepared food delivery so you know there are a lot of great restaurants but the delivery experience isn't really good," Baggott said.

ClusterTruck's customers can choose from a variety of cuisines through 11 virtual food trucks. The average cost per item is $10.

Their menu:

Pizzeria Camion: Margherita, Veg Out, The Spartan, and more;
The Mug: The Mug Original Burger, The Mug Cuban, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, and more;
Taqueria Rapido: Chipotle Shrimp Tacos, Veggie Burrito, Chicken Mole Tacos, and more;
Lazy Breakfast: Biscuits & Gravy, Lazy Breakfast Burrito, Fruit Bowl, and more;
1337 Burger: Cheeseburger, Bacon PB&J Burger, Turkey Burger, and more;
Bread Sled: Crispy Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Meatball Sub, Turkey Wrap, and more;
Urban Grazers: Applewood Chicken Salad, Baby Kale Salad, Roasted Chicken Garden Salad, and more;
Baked Mac: Buffalo Chicken, Smoked Pulled Pork, Build Your Own, and more;
Rice to Meet You: Pad Thai, Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, and more;
Tots Tots Tots: BBQ Smoked Pork Tots, Chili Tots, Cheesy Bacon Tots, and more;
Strip District: Traditional Buffalo, Sesame Plum, Thai Peanut, and more.

Once the order is in, technology kicks in.

"Our goal is to get everything done at the exact same time so it comes off the line as the driver is pulling through," Baggott said.

Drivers like Chineeta Mcintosh deliver customers' food orders to their curbside.

"They love it, everyone that I've talked to has been giving great reviews, everyone is really enjoying it, it's very innovative," Mcintosh told 41 Action News.

Right now, the delivery zone is from the River Market down to 31st Street in KCMO but the company is considering possibly expanding that zone.

"This is the kitchen the internet has been waiting for," Joseph McClarnon, a ClusterTruck employee said.
