KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The new terminal at Kansas City International Airport will open March 3, 2023.
Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas tweeted the news Wednesday morning.
The Kansas City Aviation Department shares that our planned opening day for the new KCI terminal is March 3, 2023.

Early in the process, builders and city officials were optimistic the terminal would open in November 2021, but projected a more realistic date in early 2023 by the time shovels hit dirt.
Since then, developers have been on track to hit that target.
The March opening is important with Kansas City set to host the 2023 NFL Draft shortly thereafter.
Voters said yes to the new terminal in November 2017, authorizing the city to build using airline and airport-generated revenue.
The single terminal, once open, will replace KCI’s old three-terminal system, which airlines and others called “outdated.”
Terminal A was torn down to make way for the new KCI in January 2019, while Terminals B and C remain operational.
