KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A king penguin chick hatched this month at the Kansas City Zoo, the second king penguin to be born there this winter.

The newest chick hatched on Feb. 2, the zoo said in a news release. The chick is the first offspring for its mother, Ricky, and father, Buddy Love.

The zoo is asking for the public’s help in naming the newest chick. It said that it’s looking for a winter-themed name since both new chicks were born during Kansas City’s “seemingly perpetual winter.”

Blizzard, the other penguin chick, hatched on Jan. 13. The zoo said that Blizzard "is growing fast and is almost the size of his parents."

Both new penguins can be seen in the Helzberg Penguin Plaza’s two "play pens."

If you want to submit an idea for the chick's name, you can do so on the zoo's Facebook page. The Zookeepers will pick their favorite name.
