KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Overstock, an online home goods retailer, will open a warehouse in Kansas City, Kansas, bringing more than 100 new jobs to the area, the company announced Thursday.
Distribution from the facility is expected to begin in October, according to a news release. The company has leased a 517,000-square-foot warehouse at 5300 Kansas Avenue.
The new facility will allow Overstock to offer two-day shipping to more than 99 percent of customers in the United States, the company said.
The company plans to expand future functions of the facility to include returns processing.
The warehouse will create more than 100 jobs in the community over the next two years, the company said.
“Integrating the new Kansas City warehouse to our existing supply chain network will help us provide faster shipping to our customers just in time for holiday shopping, delivering an improved customer experience alongside the products in every order,” Carroll Morale, Overstock’s vice president of supply chain, said in the news release.
