KANSAS CITY, Mo. — “Kansas City’s chicken authority” is opening a new concept in Lee’s Summit next month.

Stroud’s announced Friday it plans to open Stroud’s Express in October.

The company, which has been open in Kansas City for 87 years, will test the concept with a one-year lease in the Summit Woods Shopping Center.

Stroud’s Express will not offer a dine-in option. Rather, guests are encouraged to order online in advance for curbside pickup, carryout or delivery.

The menu will include some of Stroud’s most famous dishes and sides, in addition to family-style packages.

Stroud’s Express will be located at 1736 NW Chipman Rd.

It will be open Wednesday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Customers who order Stroud’s Express during its first week of business will get a $20 gift card to use at the location in the future.
