KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As part of News Literacy Week, 41 Action News is sharing the work that it takes to build the local news stories you see on our newscasts.

We asked some of our reporters, including Charlie Keegan, Dan Cohen, and Sarah Plake, to show you not only the processes they use to gather news, but the importance of ensuring the truth is part of every step.

41 Action News also partnered with students from Lee's Summit High School to produce a story important to them for the News Literacy Project.
