NKC company recalling products produced without federal inspection

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A North Kansas City, Mo. company that sells ready-to-eat meat products to cafes across Missouri and Kansas is recalling a host of breakfast-related packages.

The Kansas City Bakery announced the recall Friday, just a day after federal inspectors noticed that the company was preparing USDA amenable products without undergoing federal inspection.

The U.S. Department of Agricultural Food Safety and Inspection Service said that no adverse health conditions have been reported among those who consumed the following recalled products, produced between February 2017 and February 27, 2018:

  • 11-ounce foil-wrapped packages of Breakfast Burrito Sausage
  • 11-ounce foil-wrapped packages of Breakfast Burrito Bacon
  • 11-ounce foil-wrapped packages of Breakfast Burrito Chorizo
  • Individually-wrapped packages of Bacon Quiche Pie
  • Individually-wrapped packages of Sausage Quiche Pie
  • Individually-wrapped packages of Chorizo Quiche Pie
  • Individually-wrapped packages of Sausage Bacon Quiche Pie
  • Individually-wrapped packages of Ham Quiche Pie
  • Individually-wrapped packages of Ham and Parmesan Croissant

Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled products and either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
