KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The North Kansas City Police Department is honoring fallen Ofc. Daniel Vasquez Wednesday, one year after he died in the line of duty.
Vasquez was killed on July 19, 2022, during a traffic stop.
The department is projecting an emblem on its building from midnight Tuesday to midnight Wednesday.
NKC Mayor tweeted Vasquez's legacy will also be honored on Highway 210 from Diamond Parkway to Chouteau Trafficway as the area will be dedicated in his memory.

Just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, a moment of silence was held over scanner waves for the fallen officer.
The man accused of killing Vasquez is in jail awaiting trial.
