OLATHE, Kan. – Health officials say two more cases of measles have been reported on the Kansas side of the Kansas City area, driving the Kansas-side figure to 18.

Four cases – including two new cases reported Wednesday – have been reported on the Missouri side.

Earlier this week, Kansas health officials reported 16 cases of measles.

In a release Thursday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment said 14 cases have been reported in Johnson County, three cases in Linn County and one case in Miami County.

Officials do not believe the Kansas cases are connected to the Missouri cases.
