KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Olathe, Kasnas, Montessori school is temporarily closed after an overnight fire caused approximately $100,000 worth of damage.
An automatic fire alarm system notified firefighters of the fire at Agape Montessori School near 143rd and Black Bob Road around 1 a.m.
Investigators said the bathroom exhaust fan caused the fire, which was contained to the attic.
Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to fight the flames and smoke,
Significant damage to the inside of the building will need extensive repairs, crews said.
No one was injured.
