Olathe police reopen Interstate 35 northbound after 1 struck, killed in crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Olathe Police Department shut down the northbound lane of Interstate 35 on Wednesday night after a person was struck and killed.

Just after 9:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area on a fatality crash.

Officers found a male pedestrian who was struck by multiple vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the vehicles stayed at the incident location and are in contact with law enforcement.

Northbound I-35 was temporarily closed south of Santa Fe Street along with the access ramps from West 151st Street and Old 56 Highway to northbound I-35.

All lanes reopened around 3 a.m. Thursday.

The case remains under investigation.
