OLATHE, Kan. — The parent-teacher organization at Briarwood Elementary School in Olathe said money that was supposed to be deposited never made it to the bank.

Olathe police say they are investigating the case as embezzlement.

The PTO met Monday night to answer parents' questions, but 41 Action News was turned away at the door because it is a private group.

Briarwood’s principal, Chris Korb, said he wouldn't speak on the issue because PTO is separate from the school.

The PTO gave a statement on its Facebook page November 2:

On Monday night, a woman with the PTO told 41 Action News they have “no comment at this time.”
