UPDATE 4:21 p.m. | The victim has been identified as LaShonda C. Johnson, 38, of Grandview. Her 2-month old child has been upgraded to stable condition, according to KCPD.

ORIGINAL STORY | One adult was killed and an infant was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 and Blue Ridge Cutoff on Tuesday night.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. Kansas City, Missouri, police said a Chevrolet sedan was heading eastbound on the exit ramp from I-70 when it was stuck by an Oldsmobile sedan driving southbound.

A woman driving the Chevrolet died at the scene. Police said a 2-month-old baby in the car with her sustained serious injuries.

The infant was transported to an area hospital and listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Oldsmobile was not injured.

The roadway was closed until shortly after midnight Wednesday while police investigated the crash.
