KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person died in a head-on crash Thursday morning in south Kansas City, Missouri, police said.
The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. at East 139th Street and Holmes Road. Police said a blue Chevrolet Blazer was driving south on Holmes Road when the driver "drifted" into the other lane, striking a white Ford F-250 pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 54-year old Paul Allen of Freeman, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
