KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police have confirmed that one person died Friday in a single-vehicle crash in the Northland.
The wreck happened near the northeast loop of the clover-leaf exit at Interstate 435 and Missouri 152 about 5:30 p.m.
Police said a white Ford Escape was westbound near the 6600 block of Northeast Barry Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went off the left side of the roadway, crossed the ramp from westbound MO-152 to northbound I-435 and came to rest overturned inside the clover-leaf ramp from northbound I-435 to westbound MO-152.
Witness told KCPD the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree.
The driver died at the scene of the wreck. He was identified Saturday as Braylin Russell, 21, of Kansas City, Missouri.
Police said both ramps, from northbound I-435 to westbound MO-152 and the ramp from westbound MO-152 to northbound I-435, were closed until about 6:30 p.m. as police investigated the incident.
Both the ramp from 435 north to 152 west, as well as the ramp from 152 west to 435 north, are closed while police investigate a fatality crash.
