Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones is donating $20,000 to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City.
Jones made the official announcement at the museum Saturday.
He's also funding free museum admission to children from Operation Breakthrough, a local nonprofit that offers a variety of full-day learning and after-school activities from children aged 0 to 13. After the tour, the group will get to attend the Kansas City Royals game against the Detroit Tigers.
Earlier this month, a Boston Red Sox fan reportedly yelled racial slurs at Jones during an Orioles game at Fenway Park. That fan was later banned from the park.
