Overland Park City Council to consider lighted artwork displays

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Overland Park, Kansas, is one step closer to allowing lighted artwork displays.

The city’s planning commission approved on Monday a special-use permit for the southwest corner of College Boulevard and U.S. 69 Highway “to allow architecturally integrated digital lighting with movement,” according to the commission’s meeting agenda.

Block Real Estate Servicessought approval for displays on its office buildings in September.

The city council will take up the issue at its Dec. 2 meeting.
