KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Overland Park woman was sentenced Monday to five years of federal supervised release on a prostitution charge, according to U.S. Attorney for Kansas Stephen McAllister.
Chunqui Wu, 62, also was ordered to pay a $55,000 fine. She pleaded guilty in August to one count of transportation with intent to engage in illicit sexual contact.
According to a federal indictment, Wu operated three massage parlors in the county: Alpha Massage at 116 S. Clairborne Road in Olathe; A Plus Massage at 527 N. Mur-Len Road in Olathe; and King Spa at 13104 State Line Road in Leawood.
An undercover confidential informant contacted Wu about a job at her massage parlors, and she made statements indicating that she allowed employees to perform sexual services for tips. Investigators also found that employees in her massage parlors were offering sexual services to customers, according to her plea agreement.
She had faced up to 10 years in federal prison.
