The Park Hill School District is on alert after a threat of violence was written on a bathroom stall at Park Hill South High School.
The threat, written in a stall in the girl's bathroom, claims there will be a shooting at the school on Feb. 26, school officials said in a message to parents.
The following message was sent out from the Park Hill School District:
Although we have no reason to believe the threat is real, we take every threat seriously. The Riverside Police Department is already investigating, and police plan to increase their presence at the school tomorrow.
We appreciate the students who came forward to report the threat and keep their school safe.
We also appreciate the quick work of the Riverside Police Department in our last threat. Their quality police work led to an arrest of the suspect in our threat from earlier this month. As always, we follow Board policy in disciplining students who threaten our schools.
Police plan to increase their presence at the school on Friday.
