KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Violence has been the theme this summer in Kansas City, which has prompted a group of community members to turn to prayer.

"Something needs to be done in the city," Bishop John Birmingham said. "... We are tired of our city being ripped apart by violence. Something has to be done."

Saturday morning another man was killed in a shooting in the 6800 block of Cleveland Avenue.

"Let's just don't meet, let's go to these areas where murders took place and pray against this violence," Birmingham said.

Some argue police have done all they can, so Bishop Birmingham started a rolling prayer caravan.

"Whatever you loose on earth, it should be loose in heaven," he said. "We are going to loose the spirit of peace in Kansas City. Lord, stop all of this violence in Kansas City."
