ATLANTA, Ga. — Patrick Mahomes and Saquon Barkley named 2018 Fed Ex Air and Ground NFL Players of the year.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the NFL with 50 touchdown passes, and joined Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks with at least 50 touchdown passes in a single season in NFL history.
A 2019 Pro Bowl selection, he ranked second in the NFL with a franchise-record 5,097 passing yards, and became the seventh different player in NFL history with 5,000 plus passing yards in a single season.
New York Giants runningback Saquon Barkley led the NFL with 2,028 scrimmage yards.
He joins Eric Dickerson and Edgerrin James as the only rookies with at least 2,000 scrimmage yards in NFL history.
Mahomes and Barkley were selected from a panel of three finalists in their respective categories.
Mahomes is also a candidate for the NFL MVP award.
The winner of that award will be announced tonight.
