Many creatures were stirring all over town Tuesday as Kansas Citians put final touches on special holiday plans.
In the darkest, quietest season, homes are adorned with lights, carolers fill the streets with sounds of the holiday, and frantic shoppers wrap up their hunt for the perfect present.
The headlong rush into Christmas is almost unavoidable, but somehow, on Dec. 24, a hush descends.
Finally, Kansas City can enjoy one of the best gifts of all: peace.
