KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Independence police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash near Missouri Highway 291 and U.S. 24 Highway.
Police say a southbound vehicle hit a pedestrian who was in the lane of travel about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
His identity has not been released.
