KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian died shortly after 10 p.m. on Aug. 9 crossing the street near Longview Road and Applewood Drive in south Kansas City.
Police identified the victim Friday morning as Lance R. Shope, 60, of Kansas City, Missouri.
KCPD’s Accident Investigation Section assisted patrol officers after Shope stepped into the road in front of a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe.
The driver stopped and waited for the police.
Shope died at the scene.
