Pedestrian struck, killed at Truman and Grand Thursday morning

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian was struck and killed in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Truman Road and Grand Boulevard.

KCMO police report a white Audi Q7 traveling eastbound on Truman crossed through Grand on a green traffic signal.

When changing from the outermost lane to the innermost lane, the Audi struck a pedestrian crossing Truman just east of Grand.

Police say the Audi remained on the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries a short time later.

This marks the 71st traffic fatality of 2022.
