KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Unleashed Pet Rescue had a lot on their plate on Thanksgiving.
The shelter set a goal of getting 100 dogs and cats adopted on a day when most folks are thinking turkey, pie and getting stuffed.
But with deals that included no fees for potential pet owners who came in overnight Friday, 136 dogs and cats have new homes.
But even with that success, there are still plenty of animals who need homes, according to Rebecca Taylor with Unleashed Pet Rescue.
The shelter at 5918 Broadmoor St in Mission, Ks., took in 17 puppies Friday and is full again.
