KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Pettis County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office said Monday that an escaped inmate may be back in the area.

Travis Davis, 30, escaped the Pettis County jail March 10.

Since then, he’s been spotted in Oklahoma, where he escaped authorities (again) in a stolen police car, before crashing it and fleeing on foot.

Pettis County deputies received reports of a suspicious pickup on property in the northeastern section of the county, which was later reported abandoned a few miles to the west.

Deputies found a red 2001 Dodge. It had been stolen out of Heavener, Oklahoma, the town in which Davis had last been seen.

Officials searched from the ground and air but didn’t find the driver of the pickup.

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office said agencies in the surrounding area have been notified, and are on the lookout for Davis.

Davis should be considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office at 660-827-0052.
