KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Police in Kansas City arrested two people in connection to at least one armed robbery after a pursuit from Missouri into Kansas early Thursday morning.
A Kansas City Police Department spokesperson said officers responded to the area of Independence and Askew avenues in search of a car and two people suspected of taking a woman’s purse at gunpoint. A few blocks away, closer to Benton Boulevard, police found a car matching the description from the robbery.
As officers attempted to pull the car over, the driver immediately fled, according to the spokesman. Leading officers on a pursuit on Interstates 70 and 670, eventually ending when the driver hit a curb near 7th Street and Central Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas.
Police arrested both people inside the vehicle. It is unclear what charges they face at this point.
The police spokesperson said the car the suspects crashed was previously reported stolen from Kansas City, Kansas.
