KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man refused to come out of a home in the 11800 block of N. Belmont Tuesday morning.
Kansas City, Missouri, officers were called to the scene about 2:41 a.m. after a reported disturbance and fight.
A man then reportedly armed barricaded himself inside a home and refused to come out. He also threatened to harm himself.
Police negotiators were working to talk to the man.
Some adults and children family members got out of the home safely. One elderly family member remained in the home with the man but was not harmed.
Police believe the man fired one shot, but no serious injuries were reported.
The standoff ended around 6:15 a.m. when officers entered the residence and took the man into custody without issue.
