Kansas City police are investigating the city's latest homicide.
Around 7:55 p.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to a home near 60th and Highland on a call of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found a man lying in the road. He died of an apparent gunshot wound. Police later identified the victim as Cary Smith, 47.
The suspect is still at large. Police said the suspect may drive a black Pontiac with tinted windows and temporary tags. The vehicle appears to have damage to the lower left bumper.
