KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A black male was found dead outside his vehicle at East Sixth Street and Benton Boulevard shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday.
Officers were called to the scene on a medical nature unknown call when the man was found in the street. Police identified the victim as Mark K. Broome, 58.
Detectives said there were no initial reports of anyone reporting the sound of gunshots, but through the investigation officers discovered Broome was shot.
Several blocks near East Sixth Street and Benton Boulevard had been blocked off while the investigation is underway.
