RAYTOWN, Mo. -- Police are investigating after a suspicious man approached a child Friday evening.
Officers were notified of the incident Sunday morning by a man reporting a suspicious couple had approached his 5-year-old child Friday evening in the 7300 block of Hedges.
According to the man, his child was riding a scooter near the edge of the driveway while he was inside the garage. The man heard another man's voice offering to show the child 'something cool'.
When the child's father came out of the garage, he saw an unknown man standing next to the child.
The man is described as white, around 25-30 years old, bald and skinny. He was wearing a black zip-up sweater with the hood pulled down and he was wearing sunglasses.
When the man saw him, he ran back to a gray or silver Volvo passenger car parked nearby. The car had multiple dents, no license plates and was missing pieces of the trim molding.
The child's father reported the vehicle was driven by a white woman with dark hair.
The Raytown Police Department Investigations Bureau was notified and an active investigation is underway.
