Police are on the lookout for the driver of a vehicle that collided with a patrol car at E. 24th and Elmwood Saturday evening, injuring two officers.
According to officers at the scene, police were trying to stop a white Jeep driving erratically in the area. The driver sped away from the officers at a high rate of speed, but police did not pursue.
At the intersection of 24th and Elmwoodk, the Jeep failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with another police vehicle that was en-route to a difference call for service. The two officers inside the patrol car suffered minor injures, and a civilian participating in a ride-along was uninjured.
Police say the driver of the Jeep ran away from the scene and officers are searching the area. There is no suspect description at this time.
A passenger in the Jeep suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
