KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man died in a shooting at a convenience store in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday night, police said.
The violence unfolded at the store located in the 4800 block of Independence Avenue.
Just before 9:00 p.m., police responded to the scene on reports of a shooting.
On arrival, officers were directed inside the store where they located the man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers attempted life-saving measures but the man died at the scene.
A preliminary investigation found there was an altercation between two people inside the store that escalated into gunfire.
