KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police said they continue to investigate a man involved in an Operation 100 Tuesday night in the 5200 block of Skiles Avenue.

Police were called to a home around 8:15 p.m. on a reported wanted person with felony warrants.

Officers left the area after determining the caller was not at the home and they were unable to make contact with anyone.

A short time later officers were called to the home again for a disturbance involving a man. The homeowner and original caller had arrived to the home and called to report a disturbance with a man refusing to leave.

Officers were advised by the caller that the man made statements about "not going back to jail" and "wanting the police to kill him."

Officers surrounded the home and called in tactical response teams and negotiators.

Several attempts were made to make contact with the man inside and he didn't respond.

After safely entering the home, the police said the man was not inside the home. No one else was inside either.

It is believed he left the area prior to officers arriving on the scene of the disturbance call.

The investigation is ongoing.
