KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police will spend the holiday weekend making sure drivers practice road safety.
Lenexa Police said they plan to join agencies across the state of Kansas in a Thanksgiving Safe Arrival campaign. The effort will focus on traffic enforcement covering multiple possible infractions.
Lenexa Police said a grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation will fund overtime.
The campaign targets impaired drivers, as well as anyone not wearing a seatbelt.
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, the day before Thanksgiving sees more impairment-related crashes than any other day of the year.
