KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A new food manufacturing facility will be coming soon to Lawrence.
Pretzels, LLC, an Indiana-based company, plans to build a 146,000-square-foot facility in Venture Park, Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly’s office announced Wednesday.
“Food manufacturing has been growing at an incredible rate in Kansas, and we’re proud to add Pretzels, LLC to our roster,” Kelly said in a news release. “This project will create good-paying jobs and generate a significant investment for Kansas.”
As its name suggests, Pretzels, LLC sells the salty snacks under the Harvest Road brand. Its products also include corn puffs, cheese curls and other snack items.
“We are very excited to expand our production footprint and to continue serving our customers with superior capabilities and geographic reach,” Pretzels CEO Greg Pearson said in the release. “ … We look forward to becoming a member of the community in Lawrence and the broader Kansas City metro area as we expand our operations and employee base.”
Lawrence’s Venture Park sits on 200 acres on Kansas 10, adjacent to the East Hills Business Park.
The Kansas Department of Commerce worked closely with Pretzels, LLC on bringing the facility to Lawrence.
