KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Ray County man was killed in a three vehicle crash that happened Tuesday morning in rural Clay County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 8 a.m. on Old Quarry Road, south of MO-92.
Investigators determined that a 1998 Honda and a 2017 Ford were traveling north on Old Quarry Road when the Honda attempted to pass the Ford on a hill.
While attempting to pass, the Honda struck a third vehicle that was traveling southbound. That collision was head-on, and caused the Honda to be pushed back in the path of the Ford.
The vehicle that was headed southbound was also pushed into the Ford, which was pushed back into the side of the Honda.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. He was identified as 20-year-old Noe M. Hale of Rayville.
The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries. The crash report does not incicate that the driver of the third vehicle was injured.
